Key information
1. Damages: As per our Platform Services Agreement, students are liable for all damages to your property.
2. Renewal: At the end of the first semester, homeowners have the ability to decide whether or not to renew for second semester at the same payout as the first. Notification of renewal must be made at most 10 days after the end of the semester; ParkNShark will also reach out to homeowners to inquire about the second semester.
3. Lockbox: In case homeowners need to move a student’s vehicle during the school day (move their own car out, clean snow, etc.), students are required to either provide homeowners with a second set of keys to their vehicle or purchase and provide homeowners with a lockbox that they keep their car keys in during the school day. The location of this lockbox is to be agreed upon between the homeowner and student.
4. Revocation: Homeowners have the right to revoke a student’s ability to park in their driveway at any time during the semester, but must provide the student and ParkNShark with 60 days notice before doing so as per our Platform Services Agreement. In addition, homeowners must provide students with a pro-rata refund in the case of revocation. Revocation may be immediate and without refund in the case of a student violating (or defaulting) our Platform Services Agreement.
5. Fees: ParkNShark charges a 20% Platform Fee of the final auction price.
6. Timing: Homeowner’s driveways must be kept open and available 20 minutes before and after the defined school day of the school that is attended by the student(s). Arrangements outside of these hours must be agreed upon between the homeowner and the student, for, for example, extracurricular activities.
7. Non-circumvention: For 12 months after a ParkNShark student ceases to park on your driveway, homeowners are restricted from circumventing ParkNShark’s platform as per our Platform Services Agreement. This includes restrictions on making a private arrangement between yourself and any student that has created on account on our website, including the ParkNShark student that parked on your driveway the prior semester or school year. If circumvention of the Platform occurs, ParkNShark will seek liquidated damages as described in our Platform Services Agreement. Please note that this does not prevent homeowners from renting out their driveway to a student, on a private basis, that has not created an account on our website. For example, if a family friend who attends a nearby school would like to park on your driveway, within the 12 months of our non-circumvention clause, you are free to enter an agreement with them, but only if the student has not created an account on our website (and has hence not agreed to our Platform Services Agreement).
