Key Information
1. Account Creation: When you create an account, you agree to our General Terms and Conditions, Platform Services Agreement, and Privacy Policy. We ask for certain information, like the make, model, and license plate number of your student’s car, when you create an account to resolve parking disputes if they occur. We ask for your address so that we can deliver you a ParkNShark rearview mirror hanger that validates your permission to park in your spot.
2. Insurance: Students and their families recognize their ParkNShark homeowner as a “permissive user” of their vehicle (which happens when you create an account and agree to our Platform Services Agreement). Doing so means that in the case that the homeowner damages your vehicle while moving it, students and their families will be able to point to the “permissive user” clause in our Platform Services Agreement while filing an insurance claim, meaning that your insurance company is much more likely to cover the cost of any damages (since the homeowner was “permitted” by you to use the vehicle when the damage occurred).
3. Lockbox: In the case that students are not able to provide homeowners with a secondary set of keys for their vehicle (in case the homeowner needs to move it for snow cleaning, etc.), students must purchase and provide homeowners with a lockbox in which they must leave their car keys in during the school day. The lockbox must be placed in secure location agreed upon between the student and homeowner.
4. Timing: Homeowner’s driveways are kept open and available 20 minutes before and after the defined school day of the school that is attended by you. Arrangements outside of these hours must be agreed upon between the homeowner and you, for, for example, extracurricular activities.
5. Renewal: At the end of the first semester, students and homeowners have the ability to decide whether or not to continue for second semester at the same price paid for the first. Students and their families have 10 days after the semester’s end to notify ParkNShark of their desire to renew for the following semester; ParkNShark will also reach out by email to inquire.
6. Fees: ParkNShark charges a cumulative 5% auction and transaction fee to the final price of each auction. This will be included in your semesterly invoice.
7. Damages: As per our Platform Services Agreement (which you agree to when creating an account), students are liable for all damages caused by them to the homeowner’s property.
8. Non-circumvention: For 12 months after students cease to park in a ParkNShark parking spot, they are restricted from circumventing our platform as described in our Platform Services Agreement. This includes restrictions on creating a private arrangement with a ParkNShark homeowner that you parked with the prior semester or school year, or creating a private arrangement with any ParkNShark homeowner who has listed their driveway on our platform, whether or not you find out about their driveway directly or indirectly through us or our platform (website).
